I find it odd to idolize strangers online and get all defensive at the slightest doubt (I'm not implying you are). Exercising caution when discussing the objectification of a group of people — which isn't mutually exclusive to giving people the benefit of the doubt — wouldn't harm anyone.
By your logic, it seems that the next time I see someone falling into this kind of behavior, I wouldn't be allowed to say something and would need to "keep up," which defeats the whole purpose, doesn't it?
