I saw the low rating on IMDb, thought most of them were from homophobes...

I don’t think homophobes have anything to do with it this time. It mostly does a disservice to queer cinema, unfortunately. Even the important issues it touches are delivered very heavy handed and lack nuance or depth.

Whenever a movie/series has low ratings, sime of the raters are bigots, himophobes, racists, depending on the project.
That's not good((( One'd think a gay creator can make a good and impactful movie. Alas...
