Dean Withers / itsdeaann

Talking fast doesn't make someone good or bad in debates. How you express your point is what determines how good you are. It can be an asset or liability but mostly the former.
Talking fast makes you worse if you are in a debate while running for a seat, it seems aggressive and many people can't follow.

If Dean wants to run for a seat he should learn from Obama, The Wire nailed it, people want someone who can debate well but with warmth, they basically want to be tickled with a razor blade.

It would be so funny if he was a congressman in 10 years and we predicted it.

Well yeah, I wasn’t trying to say being able to speak 200 wpm makes someone a good debater.

My point was that he can speak coherently on his feet, and speak well and convincingly… even when confronted with opposing ideas. Even though I don’t agree with him on everything, just like I don’t agree with my conservative Uncle.. I acknowledge their talent. It’s mind blowing.

I'd rather see him debate on other platforms than his own tbh

Is Jubilee his platform? They did a couple really good videos on youtube that included him debating. And they’re really fair when it comes to showing multiple viewpoints.
It's not. He said he wasn't even paid for those videos. I liked his debate with Ben Shapiro – wish they had more time.

No! If someone talks fast but still puts their point across that's great. Most debates nowadays require you to be fast on your feet; otherwise, you bore people and get pummelled. Still, people will smell bull from far if you don't have a point.

I mean, Obama was from another era. Things change. He couldn't survive today's politics with adapting.

Just curious: what don't you agree with?

Thats a very narrow view, people like us might like him, but theres a giant bunch of relatively ignorant people out there who aren't even bothered to vote, or who want to vote against their best interest because they're indoctrinated.

A politician who is good looking, who is radiating warmth and competence can win against that.
