Funny. Cos your main complaint is he can't be himself to be accepted by others. It's funny because that's not determined by him is it. It's determined by others. Are you forcing others to change their sexual preferences? Forcing them to have sex with fat guys that they are not interested in? That sounds like the North Korea you are mentioning.
That's not what I meant. I'm saying, the only time he would have to change/conform himself, and then you would have the perfect argument/rebuttal/defense, is if the area he is in, by law, says he has to present himself "A" "B" or "C', (which is a thing in some countries by the way)
He's from America/United States, so that part of the argument is void.
Next, I never said that people who are not attracted to him, have to be forced to be attracted to his appearance. What I meant was, he's in America, and he doesn't have to (and shouldn't have to) change who he is. He has a right to whinge and yearn about rejections, and guys not being into him. He also needs to accept the fact that not everyone is going to like him, and he can't force people who aren't attracted to him, to be attracted to him.
However, he doesn't need to conform, and he doesn't need to change himself, unless he wants to, or that's his agenda, or he wants to experiment with something to build his confidence etc. But yeah. I'm not in the camp/category of thinking that people need to make themselves over. (For example, if you want to attract buff/bodybuilder/swole guys, you need to start lifting weights etc. No. Unless that's truly your hobby is to get into strength training/gym etc. then don't do that. There are guys who look like that, who aren't into guys who look like that, and even if not, always keep your type/dating options open but still etc. So yeah)
Just my opinion.
