I'm not particularly interested in getting any bigger, more the opposite, but I'm just asking out of curiousity, cos from what I've heard men who are in good shape do tend to be bigger than others. Is this due to the testosterone produced during working out/running or is it only men who take Creatine and other muscle gain supplements that get thid gain?

I've heard the exact opposite. Than guys who work out a lot tend to shrink up .. but maybe thats only the steroid users ... I've never had a chance to investigate.

it's bull. The only factors that might play into that are these
First if you do not have pudge around your genitals then your full length can show
Second many guys taht are obsessed with masculinity, and exercise because of it, are often likely to use penis enlargement to further enlarge their masculinity.

glossopoiesis: I might be wrong:
But I belive that the homrone which controles the growth of the body, including the penis, is hestrogene.
And hence, when having alot of exercice, testosterone is produced in higher proportions, and hestrogene lesser. This might explain why muscled people who started getting muscled young, stay short. And why Gymnast girls get breasts very late, and also why they stay so petite, or on the opposite, enormously muscled.

Ever heard of that:

Boys in italy would get their testicules cut for the voice befor ending puberty, and then they would simply never stop growing..up to 7 feet and more. I wondered wether that affacted the penis too.
I had to anywyas.

Ahhah that's exiting!
Never ending penis and body growth.
It's prooven, that's not the question.
but the penis.
at 7f musthave been enormous.

gymnasts are chosen specifically for their small size. It makes it easier to move. Trust me it's not because of the exercise it's because of the selection. Do football players look small? As a big guy at 6' 1" and very physically strong I was constanly asked to join wrestling, football, basket ball, etc... But I always prefered to be able to move freely and fluidly.

Steroid users shrink.
Supplements do NOT make it grow. Don't believe everything you read in email.

Steriod users only shrink in the testes... I think as far as being in shape I've heard that anywhere from 1/2 - 1 full inch can be covered up per 50lbs of fat gained. I don't think physical health actually contributes to any gains in real penis size.

I have lifted weights and done cardio for almost 10 years now, and I can say emphatically that it has had no effect on my penis size whatsoever. Off and on, I have taken various muscle-building supplements (OTC stuff like creatine and andro (which is now banned, though it's not proven it produces any negative effects, and I never had any from it)--NEVER steroids). None of those affect penis size either, though I do think they can assist in building muscle--"assist" being the key word, you still have to do the exercise.

If you are not in good shape, getting more physically fit can have some minor beneficial effect on maximizing the size your penis already is. If you have significant fat in the pubic area and lose it, you will reveal more of the shaft that is buried under fat. If you improve your blood circulation, you might see an effect in terms of stronger erections. All together, maybe this could give a guy who starts off pretty out-of-shape maybe 0.5-1" of "increased" erection length. But this is not really enlarging your penis, it's just maximizing whatever size you already have. (In my case, though, my erection was basically 11" long when I started working out, and it's 11" long now.)

One trade-off is that if you go from being skinny to being very muscular, your penis is going to [/I]look smaller than it did before. But don't let such a superficial concern keep you from getting in shape.

As for steroids, they definitely shrink your balls, I think the jury is still out on whether they also shrink the penis. They certainly do not
enlarge the penis. If they did, they would obviously be more popular--more men care about growing their penises than about growing muscles. Aside from shrinking balls, the other health and legal hazards of using steroids make it a bad idea for anyone.

Finally, I have never heard anyone claim the Italian castrati were especially well hung. 7 foot tall or not, I can't imagine that cutting a boy's balls off before puberty would have any effect other than to stunt growth of the penis.

I had to do a term paper on that, and it is true. Muscle mass, while appearing to be an aesthetic quality in the fitness game can gobble up size like crazy.

Do you happen to recall any of the specifics as to why thats the case?

I have a slightly different take on this, as compared with what has been said so far. I have had sustained periods of regular visits to the gym (maybe three times a week on average) and times when for various reasons, mostly related to pressures on time, I have slacked off.

I don't think I have noticed any effect on penis size, except in so far as extra exercise and the (possibly) resultant extra stimulation to the hormones produces more frequent erections. I always get a fair number of erections every day in any case, but if I am working out regularly, the frequency and the strength of them increase further. Thus I suppose there is a marginal increase in size from one point of view.

Someone did tell me that regular 'squats' stimulate the sex hormones (he put it no more precisely than that). My experience tends to bear this out.

Unfortunately, the research I had to work with didn't really elaborate as to just why; it just said it did with respects to 'roid abuse and physicality. But if you really think about it for a moment, when you gain a lot of bodily mass around the pelvic region, it will inadvertently take size away.

What he probably was refering to is the fact that exercise with heavy weight, especially of large muscles, stimulates testosterone production. Squats, which involve heavy weights (careful with your back!) and the legs, which are the largest muscles in the body, are especially good for this, and, in turn, can help add muscle mass elsewhere. Bottom line, good for increasing muscle size, no effect on penis size.

Donk:

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. Of course I know that squats are the heaviest element in most people's workout routines. But I think the implication was that the particular movement itself, quite aside from the building of muscle mass, has been shown to stimulate the testes.

I agree that there is no link between weight training and absolute penis size. On the other hand, I am 100% sure that my health, general well-being, and blood circulation (all improved by regular weight training) are directly linked to the frequency and quality of my erections. Especially if you are a very big guy (as you will know) a variation in the quality of your erection will affect its size quite significantly. The healthier I am the heavier I tend to "hang", as well.

Max,
You made yourself clear. But I think if the person who told you about squats meant that the particular movement itself stimulates the testes, he was misinformed. Squats are good for stimulating testosterone production because any heavy weight-lifting activity using large muscles can stimulate the testes to produce more testosterone and squatting involves the largest muscles in the body (the legs + involving the large muscles of the back) doing the heaviest work. It's a subtle distinction, but basically there is no testicular magic in moving one's legs up and down except that this particular movement does permit maximum weight-bearing by your biggest muscles.

Bottom line, squats are an excellent exercise for boosting testosterone production. But they also have potential for snapping your back if not done properly--before doing squats, a person should get instruction on how to do them correctly. Another good exercise for involving all the large muscles of the body is the "dead lift" (which also must be done carefully to avoid injury).

Exercise does not have any effect upon the size of a man's penis. That's just silly.

Anabolic androgenic steroids will cause the testicles to temporarily shrink, but that's just because if you already have "enough" testosterone in your system from exogenic sources, the balls shut down their production of it. There are steps you can take to keep them from shrinking, or to bring them back.

Estrogen controls the growth of breast tissue in women, and if men are given extra they do start growing breasts. Penis growth, though, seems to be governed by a number of hormones before puberty, while the growth spurt after puberty is due to dihydrotestosterone, produced in the body from testosterone. Testosterone is responsible also for the growth spurt in height in both sexes, but by a different mechanism (controlling the rate of growth of bone). Testosterone also causes the bone growth plates to fuse, which stops all further growth in height, and that would be why castrati might keep on growing. (There is a small amount of testosterone produced in the brain, which might be enough to keep slow growth going without fusing the growth plates.) Other anabolic steroids can mimic this effect, which is why they are not good for young people and make them stop growing.

There is also a mechanism that stops penile growth, but it's different. It seems to be due to another, unknown, hormone, possibly produced from testosterone, but that's not certain. It's not well understood.
