But wasn’t Luca trying to sell the film as a love story ?
The movie was a disappointment. It felt unnecessarily long and sometimes it felt aimless.
My favorite moments of the movie were only three:
+ The raw unapologetic gay sex scenes in what was supposed to be the 1950's. Sometimes a bit too raw that it felt like I was watching gay porn on the big screen.
+ The morphing yagé scene between Lee and Eugene bodies, the choreography and the scene were beautiful. Luca is amazing at choreographies AKA the ones showcased in Suspiria.
+ The last scene with an old Lee. A sad reality that us homosexuals still live until today. Dementia, old age and CRIMINAL AND VULGAR LONELINESS. That scene broke me.
