The leading role in Queer was for Daniel, not Drew. And all of the cast was amazing. They did what Luca wanted and they gave them all. I don't think anybody else would have acted better. Awards doesnt buy peoples love to actors. Drew got his fame, im sure he will get more roles.

Acting has nothing to do with who is lead. There are supporting role awards. Its actors responsibility to bring characters to life. Actors have gotten Oscar noms for being in just one scene(a few minutes in a film). Its not about public love only but that noms elevate your status.

Drew is just famous with horny gays that want him for his body only now. He needs mass appeal. This requires charisma and good acting ability.

To follow up Queer with ‘Onslaught’ is not a good look. The film Onslaught looks trash and cast are a bunch of unknown actors. Will probably go to streaming. Drew needs better films.

I don't think it was overhyped. Actually the advertisment of the movie was very very bad and like nobody knows it. I read that A24 didn't allocate money for good advert. And very small amount of cinema theaters showed the movie.

Some people like to go into movies completely blind (to be honest nobody should be expected to do a ton of research before seeing a film). Of course I would then say their expectations should be lower to middle range but Idk if Queer would even reach that level for the average viewer.

Although to be fair it really wasn't for the masses.

I'd say the worst part is that many people who this should have been for finished the movie (or didn't at all smh) disappointed.

Better luck next time Luca. I'll still see his next film but this was a miss.
