As for the last point, mainly because straight couples are still much more strict when it comes to monogamy (or at least that's my impression).

I'd say that at least 80% of gays in relationships I have ever known are fucking around, with or without permission.

Well, idk if there are any studies but its common knowledge that most homosexual men have open relationships..and its nothing wrong.
