Emmanuel macron

People definitely not wanting Le Pen (well, 75% of people) is the reason why he won during the second turn, but not why he reached it.
This year had record levels of abstention because they wanted neither. And on top of that, the first round had 11 candidates.
He was an investment banker for Rothschild, became a millionnaire a few years back while brokering a deal between Nestle and Pfizer and yet his tax returns seem to indicate savings as low as anyone.
He has ties to a lot of rich and powerful people, including the main shareholders of several national newspapers and TV channels, meaning that those are unlikely to ever publish anything bad against him.

Since he was elected, he has chosen for his Prime Minister someone who is anti-equality, a serial absentee from his former job as a senator, and a lobbyist for Areva. Our Health Minister has been paid by big pharma for some years. The Budget minister is a homophobe (oh, those tweets, who'd have thought people archived them?) There's a bit more, but it's already boring.
It honestly looks a lot like a younger, better-looking and slightly more progressive Trump with a better PR team from here, including the rabid fans who don't even blink when you mention those facts, and attempt to justify them.

For the bits about Marine Le Pen being racist, I really don't feel like looking for those, it's painful enough having to hear them the first time around, but a quick search should be enough. The fact that she's anti-Europe and still decided to run for a seat at the European parliament, where she voted against equality between men and women is enough for me. That and repeatedly ignoring the neo-nazis in her party.
You are right. I'm French, like you, and if people voted for Macron it was because there was actually nothing else, if you didn't want to have Le Pen or Melenchon for President. People don't like the way Macron ran the country for 5 years and it's the main reason he lost the elections in last June. There always have been rumors about his sexuality, at the time of the 2017 election and even before, when he was working for Rothschild. He prefered ignore them. Well, ask Brigitte !
