I tend to look on the "Ask a Straight Man" threads because there are so many people that insist that "you're lying to yourselves". "There's no way you could NOT like dick!" You get the idea. I was thinking and some of the few theories I've come up with are

1.) Some people believe doing anything other than actual penetrative sex with another man does not make you any less straight.

2.) It's all a spectrum, so if you claim to be x% straight you are regardless of who you have sex with

3.) Trolls.

4. Getting straight guys to admit (even if people that aren't "straight" leave a lot of the replies) to admit they play around with other guys is the hottest thing ever/ a fetish of theirs.

Not saying anything is wrong with believing any of that and I just wanted other peoples opinions (and have a thread here that isn't all about who you shag). Thoughts and other theories?

I think number 3 is the primary candidate here.

That and the internalized homophobia that some have that if they don't identify as gay or bi that society will treat them better. Even though people now do not stigmatize as much as they did a long time ago, depending on where you live and what country you're in.

Definitely a combination of #3 and #4. Given that I've lived my entire life so far in a pussy-centric universe, I cannot appreciate the alleged beauty or wax poetic over the male member; other than finding it pretty cool to own on a personal level. Yet, some guys apparently have issue with accepting that answer and have made it their mission to convince straight men their logic is flawed.

This will never fail to amaze and annoy, as this seems to be a particular trait mostly limited to gay or bi men. While admittedly I find the images of two lesbians making out arousing, it has never occurred to me to obsess over including myself in their escapades for the simply fact I know they would not be into me and might even find my suggestion insulting. Needless to say, I would definitely never try to convince them to "try it out" let alone suggest my dick is someone the end all to be all that will override their biology. I would also never attempt to disrespect a gay man by trying to convince him pussy is the greatest thing and he knows he really wants it. Yet as this sub-forum has proven, straight men are subjected to this thinking on a regular basis.

So while some of them are straight up trolls trying to stir the pot and it will catch up to them eventually, I think some also genuinely believe all men secretly desire other dicks and they will be the one to expose the truth. This thinking has no doubt been skewed by straight/gay porn and the number of paid actors who are claiming to be "straight 8" as well as the number of guys giving the OPs the answers they seek in this forum; even though as pointed out, those respondents aren't actually straight.

I definitely look at the pictures on here, and click like on pictures of dicks that I think look good. That being said, I can say without hesitation that I have no desire whatsoever to hold, suck or stroke any of them.

I posted this in it's own thread (which was misconstrued, go figure...); but it's still apt.

"The greatest hurdle to sexual harmony is ignorance of the fact that members of the other sex (and other sexual orientations) are fundamentally different from ourselves. We all instinctively feel that other people must be just like us. “It just seems so natural to like men,” insisted one thirty-year-old gay man when asked why he liked gay porn that featured straight men. “To be completely honest, I guess I believe that all guys must feel the same attraction to men that I do, but straight guys just repress these feelings...""

They're wrong, of course, but at least you know why we get all the "you're secretly gay" threads/questions.

As a guy that likes other guys, it's incredibly annoying seeing that everywhere for me too. The person in whatever media said he's straight, stop constantly berating him with more questions about it and why you, for whatever stupid reason, think he's not.

The previous post above me honestly kind of disgusts me (not you herodotus, but the subject matter) that others can be that closed minded, especially since they've probably gone through stuff too being gay and all. It does, however, seem like a decent enough explanation for some people's actions

I think that could be number 5 “lack of emphaty” if a person can’t put himself on the other person shoes would make those kind of conclusions. I know that if was member of a minority the idea that everyone is like me would be tempting but I wouldn’t be on a minority then.
I think number 4 is highly promoted by porn, as always porn is not the real life.
3 trolls is a real issue, they pucks tons of silly questions sometimes even going against their last question, there must be a “large troll support group” that auto generate all the possible variations of a silly question just to ruin the place.
