Flowers you like

Finally had some 40 plus degree weather. As promising as it is, it’s January and Mother Nature is jerking me around. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy all the flora in everyone’s posts.

Right now I'm crying because I think I lost my agapanthus in the freeze. I guess sheets don't help in 25 degree weather. They look horrible. I hope they come back.

I’ve been trying keep all the cold weather by me. The South really took a hit. The coldest I go with plants outside is 40. At that point they go in the garage or on a covered porch at night. I don’t do a lot of plants that have to come in. Right now I have a few larger outdoor plants in my basement hoping to make it to summer. I hope your agapanthus didn’t get bit too bad. Just looked them up. I like them and could possibly do this perennial in my neck of the woods.

Lupines, although not a native species, they now grow wild all over Canada's maritime provinces. Nothing like a field of lupines in full bloom. I believe the dwarf native variety are called "Blue Bonnets" in the USA.

Carnations. They are easy to grow, don't have thorns, and have a fragrance that does not make you sneeze. They look good as well.

Someone mentioned Agapanthus, those things are weeds in Australia, as are most South African plants.

Is there anything more beautiful than the scent of lilacs in the evening? I just love them, too.
I have a lilac tree in my yard outside my kitchen window. I keep the windows open when they're in bloom, and the fragrance fills the house. I also have a mock orange tree, which does the same thing, a few weeks apart.
