So I wanted to talk about the studios that focused on story-lines, when I was first able to have a Computer my first experience was a Randy Blue video I think it was the Halloween one with Rockway as a Vampire before that I only really watch clips without context, but once I was able to go pass the restrictions of Bed on Fridays and Saturdays and more time on the Internet, I was able to enjoy movies a lot more no more skipping to the main attraction I found that the stories were cliched but that’s what you expect from the studios like Bijou which was the first big one that everyone remembers.
Here is a selection of Studios that do the best in my books and what their movies I’d suggest.
Dragon Media: This studio when I first heard of it was originally called Joe Gage’s and it's Gage's movies that I remembered for the plots it’s where I first saw Dale Cooper who I had a large crush on. The storylines of Gage’s Sex Files and Doctors and Dads series were a great for their simple to understand plotlines, he also has been known for his focus on less perfectly smooth men, his characters are working men that can be hairy or older, it was his movies that don’t have a typically Gay focus in fact his movies have a sexual fluid style some of the characters are married to women but are confident in their selves to have these adventures in sexuality for, a world that does focus in Bi-erasure the Joe Gage man will find themselves towards the opposite.
- Dragon Media is also home to Rocco Steele Father and Son’s Secret, which I wanted to talk about no doubt they are erotic but while I think they were well cast their storylines were weak, I felt the first could have been better and I was underwhelmed by the second as it was litery just two sex scenes espeically since CJBeardedBrit is a hot Daddy, they could have had a shoutout to the first movie when Barr Anderson jerks two guys in the toilets or something to that type, I know that maybe there was probely limited time in the locations but I guess I went in with a high expectation, but the guys had potental to do more and that’s a slight disappointment.
Kink.Com: This site does some great BDSM vids but I think what makes them good is their use of stories I went to the Four Hand Massage one for Men on Edge the way it has the character introduced and the way that the pair of masseurs are in full knowledge of what they are going to do, maybe it’s a little too simple for some, but what always Kink did well was either before or after sometimes even both was that they would have the cast talk about their parts in the vid, what worked was that you were remained that Porn is a fantasy and to see them talking about the shoot gave a realism to the performers that rarely is seen you just think of them as bodies (in that era) but the creatives made it work towards making personalities.
Say Uncle and Carnal Plus: I put these two together for the simple reason that both Studios produce similar series with differences, it reminds me of when I was 24 there was both
Massage Bait and
Rub Him beginning their production and you knew that both made the same story just with different actors. So what are the same elements of these two studios?
- Both studios make similar themed movies; the best examples are:
- Family based story-lines: Say Uncle: Family Dick, Carnel+: Gaycest
- Secret Societies: Say Uncle: Missionary Boys, Carnel+: Boy for Sale
- Scouts: Say Uncle: Boys at Camp, Carnel+: Scout Boys.
- Both studios also use the same performers.
- Also both studios have acquired other studios e.g Say Uncle has Gentlemen’s Closet and Carnel+ has Bang Bang Boys.
I personally don't have a particular preference for either studio. Both have a great deal of easily returnable material and while they do clearly copy themes in their work the execution is different and both don’t have dropped in quality.
Disruptive Films: Oh boy this studio has been fresh I love what they have done to story driven porn, my first experience was watching Virgin No More, I felt goosebumps fearing that Toby was going to be murdered or that Carl had something to hide but no he clearly wants to stay as friends but the bond has gone Toby however has fallen in love, I felt empty despite knowing it was fiction I felt bad getting off to it. I find the movie's genius and the casting is wisely done. My personal favourites are Young Again, Maybe I Might Be and Be. I find their biggest hit The Briar Basin Ranch a good series but I guess I wanted more from it. No doubt others all there are fresh ideas coming from this studio and I can’t wait for what comes next.
