Hell I would have showered after gym class (I was on the swim team, I was used to showering with others) but at my school we had 5min between periods to get to your next class and the locker room was in the basement. I didn't have time to shower because I barely had time to get my clothes on.

In gym class we finished 10 minutes before period end just to allow for showers. And our gym teacher would come to the locker room and stand making sure everyone did.

Our gym/health class was divided up by sex. Not sure if they do that nowadays. So presumably the girls gym teacher would enforce the shower routine.
