This whole controversy reminds me of the arguments people had with Aaron Taylor-Johnson's frontal... like it's too good to be true so it must be fake. I've seen many penises and nothing about his strikes me as unusual. It just doesn't make sense to me that this scene was worth the trouble of constructing either the most realistic prosthetic I've seen or using CGI enhancement for not just his member but every reflection too.
This is what I was expecting - no attempt to actually give an answer, just a resort to a stupid ad hominem. Matches well with the explanations of why they'd bother with a prosthetic for such a nothing scene being "it's HBO" and "it's Lena Dunham".

Lets be somewhat realistic. It's very rare for a male lead (s) in a "mainstream" American TV show (HBO is a partner on this one) to do real frontal nudity. Hollywood is weird as fuck when it comes to nudity, especially male nudity in TV shows and movies. There are body doubles, fake dicks, CGI cum shots, fake vaginas, etc. Hell some porn videos now have fake cum. Technology has advanced some much that nothing needs to be real anymore.
