What do Christians have to do with this? Christians do it for religious reasons too, and Hasan's family is not Christian. So my point still stands, why would I assume a socially progressive family would circumcise their kids? And why would I believe someone telling me Hasan is circumcised without providing proof?

I mentioned Christians to point out the fact that someone's degree of religiosity or lack thereof, generally speaking, has no bearing on the fact that circumcision is a widespread, common practice in Middle Eastern cultures and overwhelmingly so in Turkish.
