Here, you seem to be mixing up British actor Luke Evans (played Zeus in the Immortals) with U.S. actor Scott Evans (brother of Chris Evans, who played Captain America in the adaptations of the Marvel comics to the movies).
There definitely was some dust up about whether Luke Evans and his publicity team tried to put him back in the closet when some of the bigger action roles came his way.

He's the hottest piece of ass to walk across the big screen in a long time. A lot of thought goes into designing superhero costumes, specifically the muscles and bulges. The audience runs the gamut. Can't have Superman's dick scaring the kiddies. Can't be too small either. They actually have meetings, comparing different codpieces, selecting the best one. I work peripheral to the movie industry and made friends with some people responsible for the contours of popular superheros. Ah, OZ.
