Anthony Perkins 1960 (with Jane Fonda)
Tall Story was filmed/released just before Psycho, which forever changed the course of Perkins' career.
It is also significant as Jane Fonda's first film. Tony Perkins was one of those very skinny guys who was also very sexy. He was also an underappreciated fine actor.

Perkins I think was a Matinee idol before Psycho. Hitchcock chose him because he was entirely in contrast to the balding fat slob that Norman Bates was in the novel. Nobody would have thought somebody as handsome as his could be the villain. He looks incredible paired with Janet Leigh. Second, he did an exemplary performance, and did a few movies in the Psycho series, he got plenty of recognition through his later career, he never stopped acting.

Yes, he was all of that, but his incredibly iconic performance as Norman Bates should have gotten him the Oscar and he wasn't even nominated. Sure, it was different times but still... Maybe his son Osgood, after getting great reviews for directing Longlegs will one day get that honor.
