While I do like that they're trying to push Hook a little harder now to make him a more serious wrestler, this might be way too much too soon. Maybe they've got another idea planned and it won't just be a straight up squash. If not, this match probably shouldn't be happening.

I want it to be a squash tbh, it looks nonsensical to have Hook inflict pain on Samoa Joe. Sure he can get a suplex in or red rum locked in for a few seconds, but I personally think it’ll be silly if for a second it looks like Hook can actually cause damage to Joe

It has the potential to be great like Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesner from a few years back. Where Bryan earned Lesnar’s respect. Luckily, Hook isn’t portrayed as undersized character that will simply flip, flop and dive. Joe can sell his ass off, to any Mighty Mouse character. If done right, it will be interesting and could help both in the long run. TK can’t mess this up, he either needs to start the show with the match or build it up throughout the night.

I think Taz got some influence on how Hook is booked, which is why you rarely see Hook take a beating even as a babyface we don’t see him get his ass beat, I understand Tony wants to make Hook look strong and intimidating but sometimes Hook needs to take an ass beating.

Hook is one of their most over guys. His booking is down to AEW fans liking him and them wanting build him into a legit star.
