Hot Bodybuilder Chase Savoie

Isn’t it surprising that he never won the Men’s Physique title at the Olympia weekend with this physique?

Well, I have my theory why he didn’t. A previous post here pointed out that bodybuilding competitions attract a lot of gay attention, but the bigwigs who manage the shows don’t like this association, as this article explained; moreover, they don’t want that such contests are likened to beauty pageants. So, the judges are wary to award first place to a competitor that is remarkably pretty; they don’t want to hear the complaint “he won for his pretty face, not for his muscularity”.
So, my point is that handsome athletes are disfavoured in bodybuilding competitions.

Another example? Ryan Terry has been competing at the Olympia since 2015 but he didn’t win until 2023, even if his physique was as good then as it is today. The main difference is that he became visibly older (a side effect of steroids is skin aging, most noticeable in the face).

Exactly what happened in the 80's when Bob Paris revealed he was gay and, subsequently, the industry gradually kicked him out. They were afraid that the associated of bodybuilding with homosexual desire became a confirmed reality in the eyes of the public.

That's why from then on the industry began to favour the ultra massive bodies thinking that by looking as big and grotesque as possible the association of bodybuilding with homosexuality would fade away.

Ironic in an industry that pursues a homosexual ideal of male beauty that was indeed created and exalted by homosexual men in ancient times.
