I presume the organizers of bodybuilding contests fear that the sponsors (mainly producers of dietary supplements for athletes and sportive clothing brands) won’t finance the shows if the audience is perceived as gay fans, instead of fitness enthusiasts who are the main commercial target of those sponsors. However, NPC was well aware of the potential of Chase, they made a photoshoot with him in Puerto Rico:
The bodybuilders tipically make some sexy photo sessions at the beginning of their career, when they need recognition, but afterwards they stop that activity – it is considered not remunerative enough. At least I guess so, because trainers who choose a career in modelling don’t last for long in the business.
