Why do so many gay men marry their doppelgangers
I think it's not quite that simple. Yes some couples tend to have the whole "boyfriend twins" thing going on. But the idea of two partners looking alike or people seeking people who "look like them" is a common phenomenon among straights as well it's not unique to gays, just maybe a bit more noticeable for obvious reasons.
9 Reasons Why Many Couples Look Alike.

This outlook also erases the countless interracial gay couples I've seen IRL, on social media and on television. Honestly I think those are just as common as the "doppelganger" ones but we often are subject to confirmation bias and build up the boyfriend twin thing to be bigger than it really is.

Isn't he straight?
He recently "came out" during a podcast earlier this month.

But even prior to that he never explicitly stated he was "straight" afaik. He kind of was doing the glass closet thing I suppose ie. where you aren't super public or explicit about being gay/bi/queer or your sexuality in general.

You kind of just live your life (just in a more discreet way) Similar to Julian Morris before he "went public" about his relationship

By interracial gay couples, do you mean mixed minorities (i.e. Black and Latinx, Asian and Indian, etc.)? Because, in my experience at least, the White gays are much less likely to venture outside of Winterland and - hence - "marry their doppelganger" which I believe is what the original commentator was referring to. I'd love to be wrong, but in my neck of the woods, you can have a million things in common with a White gay, same likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc., but if you fail the beige paper bag test, 9 times out of 10, you'll just be friend-zoned. They rarely date us and almost never marry us.

Yeah basically, white & black/asian/Hispanic couples. I see these pretty often. Maybe they're not as common in reality. I can absolutely agree to that.

No you're not wrong. I think that's pretty common. I guess i just think it's common for most people to date intra-racially. Not just the whites? But because they're plenty more whites we notice it more with them.

Yeah unfortunately I think that is right. I wish everyone could just date people regardless of race but I guess i know that's just unrealistic. So I just focus on the attainable at this point (some of whom are white to be fair) lol

They look related.

I know you're joking... but they actually did play brothers on Emmerdale together.

Puts a whole new spin on the phrase "boyfriend twinning" though, to be fair, I don't think their characters were twins.

IIRC they didn't play brothers on screen together though. They met on Kris' last day of filming before he left the show. Just In case anyone was thinking some weird fantasy lol.

Seeing the two of them in various stages/lack of facial hairiness. They don't really look much alike to me lol Max is a ginger and Kris is a brunette. So I just don't see it tbh.
