any tips on organizing for actors that have jumped studios or just worked for multiple studios? part of me wants to organize by studio then actors within each studio, but with the number of guys that work for multiple studios im not sure if i should just organize it all by actor instead? (suppose I could have a folder within each studio for an actor that worked for multiple but in my head it seems messy to have multiple folders for one actor spread apart in each studios folder)

Do both, of sorts. If the porn video that you have and you know what studio it comes from, then do it by Studio.

Unknown studio, then by actor.

Seems easiest to sort by actor in one big folder, then you'd never have this issue again.

If you don't want to do that, you could add a new folder and call it "Multi-Studio Actors" or something

Organized and sorted: 4TB-ish

Several cases of HDD died unexpectedly left such a sour taste in my mouth that I'm just done collecting for the sake of collecting, now I just keep all the stuff that I know I like. The only exception are rare/hard to find videos (either from lack of popularity or trigger-happy studios/producers, you know who they are) and porn with peculiar/interesting details like that one scene from that one studio that shall not be named where the guy came five times in front of the camera.

Then another version saved in cloud storage
Also wrote an Android TV app myself to access the files from cloud, so that I can jack off in front of my TV lying in my bed or sitting on the sofa

I organize completely by actor, I don't see much advantage to organizing by studio. You want to see the talent, not the person who pays them. Seems the easiest way to find the content you want?

*sigh* I currently have around 2.5 TB probably more on DVD's that I burnt in the day but I can't be bothered to check the DVD's for duplicates. I did have more but my stupid ass went and accidentally turned my 2TB external HDD into a 128GB Windows recovery flash drive, hence why my Sean Cody and Chaosmen folders are filled with videos that have "0000001247.mp4" as file names and I gave up on collecting

Hmmm... I don't know if I'd trust having my collection on Google drive. I just have external hard drives two copies of each. I learned years ago after a primary crashed and no back-up to always by two drives at a time.

I'm not sure how "techie" you are, what you want to spend, and this might be overkill, but one thought is looking at something like a Synology NAS. It's hard drive storage inside a unit you physically put at your home, but its contents can be accessed for streaming by devices within your local network (or the outside Internet if you so set it that way - will you be accessing from only at home or anywhere/while traveling, etc.?). There are other brands but that's a widely known and solid brand and works decently within the Apple ecosystem.
