I think he’s gay. To go from “Teen Wolf” with Jeff Davis to “All American” with Greg Berlanti and Robbie Rogers. Both shows with gay producers. He’s hot and he could be part of the gay celebrity circle.

Both All American shows have been really weird about their complete exclusion of gay male characters or any gay characters in sports.

Last season they had that one gay character Raj on that one episode who helped JJ with his essay but that’s the bare minimum lol
True but one gay character in one episode in the fourth season and still not on the damn football team (either of the football teams), while has been so much lovely lesbian rep. on this show about male football players, it is very weird.

I really thought a JJ/Raj romance was brewing and it went NOWHERE!
Yeah, agreed, I thought I saw a spark at the end of Raj's episode but then JJ disappeared for weeks until the party episode, and Raj was never seen again.

Slightly off topic, I just started watching All American from season 1, was there a quite a lot of online criticism about the show exclusion of male 'gay' characters and what was the show's creators response?. I thought they might include a closeted storyline involving one of the high school football/gridiron teammate in either season 1 or 2?.
No, there has been almost none.
In places where this kind of criticism can get any kind of traction, like on Twitter, it is often not considered appropriate to comment on a lack of gay/bi males when lesbians or bi women are well-represented. Representation of gay/bi men is not a priority for the queer women that really control the trendlines of queer media activism in those spaces. Especially since the shows' showrunner is a queer woman, questioning her queer bonafides by discussing the show's bad (non-existant) rep of queer men is asking for trouble.
