I agree I am sooo confused? Have played with men in some form since I was young, married in my 20's and just finished with my 3rd wife! 58 here and the 2nd wife calls out of the blue 3 weeks ago after 17 years, shows up last week from out of state for a few days to catch up, and catch up we did! I think the assertion that men are only straight or gay and that it is women who are bisexual is false.
I don't know how many men have equal attraction, i.e. 3 on the Kinsey scale, male that is not especially common, but I think what we are discovering as non-straight sexuality ceases to be such as taboo, is that there are more men than we previously though who are mostly, but not exclusively straight, i.e. positions 1 and 2 on the Kinsey scale.
For some, a relationship with either sex may have been possible and societal norms or the desire to have children may have influenced them to take up with a woman rather than another man, but for others a relationship with another man would never have been likely as they lack the emotional/romantic attraction but have found they can get aroused and have fun with another man and are increasingly doing that, either between female partners or on the side.
There have also been threads on here about this seeming to become more common as we age. I don't think that represents a fundamental change of orientation as we age but an increase in confidence and becoming less worried about what others will think.

I disagree. Bisexual and biromantic are not the same things. And it's possible that someone wouldn't hold hand or cuddle a girl, too. Actually, I cuddle and stuffs with very, very few people, and didn't have sex with all of them. Sex and feelings are related but it's not a must.
very true. my bisexuality stops at sex. i don't really feel romantic feelings for men, which is why I tend to avoid sex with openly gay men as it just creates this bad vibe when they realize--although are already aware of--the fact that I'm never going to be into them romantically. i have made friends with hookups over the years and some are accommodating to the reality of my lack of romantic interest, but I think this is why there is such a big stigma against bisexuality in the gay community. anyone who feels locked into the binary must feel frustrated or betrayed when sex doesn't advance into something more substantial should they feel that way towards their bisexual sex partner. Sometimes I even feel bad myself, like I'm stringing someone along, but yeah. Anytime I have made out with a guy, it's been to make them feel comfortable, but I don't really enjoy it. I'd rather suck dick lol. In some way I feel like this extends to why I am not attracted to feminine gay men, as I'm more attracted to women. I absolutely respect how anyone expresses themselves, but if I wanted to fuck someone fem, it'd be a woman.

Not sure it has anything to do with fitness?? I would say society today is certainly a lot more open than it was 20 years ago…. On the simple basis that people are more accepting more people feel comfortable testing sexual “norms”…. So by default more people of all persuasions I would say are more open to different things and experiences….. “bi” is a social construct and label let us not forget

Bisexuality and biromanticism probably overlap for some people, but not for me.
There's a difference between what you believe you are or what you wish you are, and what you truly are. I suspect it's easier for people nowadays to accept and own and be proud their bisexuality than perhaps it has been in the past. So you're not seeing more people "turning bi", you're seeing people responding to societies that are becoming increasingly more welcoming of the spectrum.
