Age verification and what is required to be compliant in 2025 continues to change rapidly. Our process of investigating what we need to do for age verification uncovered the risks associated from a cam point of view. We've been made aware of risks we've been taking that we shouldn't have. This all came about this week after a meeting with an age verification company. Their recommendation was to cease cam operations asap.

Yesterday we notified our hosting company of our decision to terminate the hosting of our cam servers. We expected a 30 day notice period. This morning we were notified they were able to terminate the servers immediately (Pre March 1st) and repurpose them for other clients.

This left us no time to give notice. We actually woke up to the chat being disabled. We had no idea that would be the case.

Was this decision made after discussing risk with your own legal counsel or after duscussing risk with an age verification company trying to sell you age verification services?

We didn't "complain complain complain." you killed a key aspect of the LPSG website without any warning. And then asked for feedback when you realized people actually noticed the change. What did you expect? When you surprise people with major adjustments there is going to be pushback. It's very disappointing that the response to people expressing there thoughts on this unexpected change (again) is to brush it aside and call it complaining. I'm VERY on board with age verification but not form a site that doesn't seem to value its users.

If I had to age verify EVERYTIME i wanted to access the shitty (sorry i love yall but it was bad) cam chat system we had? absolutely not

if i had to age verify ONCE to access the same cam chat system we had? maybe, most likely yes

if i had to age verify my profile ONCE to access a better cam chat system (and the info was not stored)? absolutely yes


I loved the idea of the cam chat, but imo it didn’t operate well. it was super slow, cams wouldn’t load, if someone joined after you entered the chat you had to reload the entire fucking thing, DMs took forever to enter the private chat, and the list goes on.

i do think that i would age verify, even for the same system because i loved seeing guys, but i would hope that things would actually change since i feel like it’s had these problems since launch.

i appreciate all yall do for sure, just hoping that we can err grievances and constructive criticism with the site and that it’s met with an honest attempt to make it better!!

To answer the question, I do think I would verify my profile if, as @Mfaredew cleverly pointed out, it was a one time thing that the site thereafter remembered forever.

I do also have a question of my own:

What makes chat so vulnerable, according to that age verification company that recommended you take the whole thing down? To be even clearer: why only chat, and not the rest of LPSG?
Are we only afraid of minors being in chat? Are they not just as likely to be in forums? Viewing galleries? Exchanging PMs? Exchanging and viewing pics and videos? Are they not EVEN MORE likely to be in these places?

I understand how things are evolving and the apparent need to keep young adults away from porn stuff (good luck with that!). If age verification is a thing you need to set up to protect them (and more importantly the LPSG site and community) I also get that. Why not the full site?

I'd like to clarify one more thing:

I'll verify for a new chat, granted that it is provided to us in a timely fashion.

I barely interact with forums here, as I much prefer interacting with my fellow LPSG members live, and have very little interest in trading stolen porn or joining debates in the forums. I will not be satisfied long with only being able to access that side of the site.

I will not stick around for months or years without chat. That's with or without the age verification.

I'm sorry you feel that way. We could have handled the situation better. The truth is we've had a poor product that under delivered for years. That's on us.

And despite it being a poor product that was barely used by a few dozens of people, you still overreacted to the assessment of that one company, even though as far as I understand no incident with minors has ever happened, or i would expect to see it mentioned in this thread.

Has there ever been any actual issue? If the answer is no, isn't it an overreaction to pull the plug for one assessment after years of activity? Isn't it a mistake to ask for age verification opinions AFTER pulling the plug?

This just looks like you guys got scared and chose the simple option out, honestly. Which i know you're gonna say it's not our assses on the line, but then again it's not our fault the site was poorly planned from the start either.
