Important Update about Our Cam Chat Feature

Obviously I am curious to see what is involved in the age verification process. is the age verification (with the face) only seen by LPSG 'staff' or does everyone get to see it?

Also, maybe I am being stupid here, but say someone goes through the age verification process and passes, how does that mean then that the person on the otherside of the cam is that actual person (i.e. not underage) caming? So in other words, one person does the age verification but A.N.Other is the person caming?

And despite it being a poor product that was barely used by a few dozens of people, you still overreacted to the assessment of that one company, even though as far as I understand no incident with minors has ever happened, or i would expect to see it mentioned in this thread.

Has there ever been any actual issue? If the answer is no, isn't it an overreaction to pull the plug for one assessment after years of activity? Isn't it a mistake to ask for age verification opinions AFTER pulling the plug?

This just looks like you guys got scared and chose the simple option out, honestly. Which i know you're gonna say it's not our assses on the line, but then again it's not our fault the site was poorly planned from the start either.

We have done our research and there is a reason there are very few to no cam chats of that nature. The risk is too great. One bad situation shuts down the entire site forever.

The age verification would not be seen by anyone. We would never have access to it. It would be all automated.

Thanks for the reply. I understand the risk, i also understand that precisely because it's unique, it's a golden opportunity for you, if you manage to offer a good quality product that is also safe. I am sad to learn the "new chat" has gone. I read about the age verification and completely understand the legal position of the LPSG site to make safe decisions to protect the websites existance. An age verification should not be a big problem since legally it is or will become common for more and more services. I believe it will help to prevent to have some ugly things happening on the site in some way.

I place trust in @LPSG for working hard in providing a great fun place this site has been for many years. I also believe this site has grown from a garage-start-up-fun-idea-website to a much more complicated company with growing complicated issues that comes with growth, change of technology, change of legislation and change of users.

Therefore I state to be and remain a happy user of this wonderfull platform, and looking forward to the new developments in the future and all its many possibilities we might be getting offered.

I prefer the old chat room because people actually chat (well, sometimes.) The new chat room seems to be exclusively about the cams (not by design, it's just how it worked out.) I understand why this change may be a big disappointment to some, but it's OK by me.

I accept verification for cams, but you can't even see a chat list in the room. Is it that hard to disable only the cam icon in the navigation bar? I call shenanigans!

call it what you want, the original developer of that software went awol on us. We have no way of “turning off” the cam feature.

I understand why you have to do age verification but it sucks! Been a member here for a longggg time and been a highly active member in the cam chat for years…it’s always been my favorite part of the site. Clearly the chat has been going down hill for years now but it’s still fun to stay active in there. I 100% will not be doing age verification and if the chat completely goes away…odds are I’ll likely stop coming here which is very sad! LPSG has been a big part of my life and met some of my favorite people here…sad when the end of an era comes!

No. The age verification process is much easier than that. It usually requires a cam to view your face, the ai does an age estimation and you are then approved to view the site.

Idk how I feel about this. I’m 18 going on 19 and like I still have a rather younger looking face according to people I know. In case the ai fails will there be an option to at least have a documentation route that I can use to prove my age?
