Showtime has gone straight to series on a prequel series — Dexter: Origins — that will tell the origin story of Michael C. Hall’s serial killer drama that first bowed on Showtime in 2006 and was part of a wave of anti-heroes that captivated viewers.

There are two series announcements from the press release. The other is the continuation of new blood and will follow Harrison

One day its happening next day its not. Who knows. Guess we'll see if/when its out whether its happening or not.

I think a sequel could work quite well.. I haven't kept up with it at all but I scrolled past an article the other day that said season 2 was cancelled, but I didn't read it so who knows what it actually said

It's definitely not going ahead..they are doing a prequel with a younger Dexter instead

from what i understand, paramount plus is focusing on the prequel series, but they haven't definitively shelved a second season for New Blood (they may or may not do it in the future)
