Oh yes. It's the most important issue of the 20th century. I believe nothing is as crucial as jockstraps (and Ir really mean that), so I feel some investigator would delve into the elite universities' activities here. I think it's kinda hot that they did this.

One of my favorite historical jockstrap sightings is from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics opening ceremony where Rafer Johnson’s jockstrap was completely visible as he walked up the stairs to light the Olympic flame (1:10) in the video
