It isn't hard to find verification of these, either. Hartnett's peak fame was on the level currently shown to Shawn Mendes but it was fleeting for sure.

Only noting this because this came out a little while back, he was offered Superman (among others) and the total off was $100 million for 3 films which reflects the insane level of stardom that dude briefly had. Hartnett confirms it here.

Interview is worth reading. This dude absolutely was on track to be next Brad Pitt and clearly emerged from the Pearl Harbor fiasco with his star burning brighter than Affleck (who did not lock in any big roles post PH (Jack Ryan and Daredevil were already finalized beforehand) and whose career was officially dead within 2 years before his slow comeback). Hartnett speaks pretty bluntly about prioritizing success in his personal life over his career and it certainly interesting to think about how much more successful in that area he seems to be compared go people like Pitt/Affleck/. Not like Hartnett is poor either.

Europeans aren't a homogenous group of white people, if that's what you were getting at. And caucasian is a highly problematic term, which for the life of me I can't figure out why people from the US use for white people. Caucasia traditionally includes Europe, Western Asia, South Asia, North Africa and so on. In Sweden and all of the other countries that were mentioned, there are more than one group of ethnicities, and not all of them are "white"... which isn't an ethnic group btw, nor is black or brown.

Remember when he stole all the attention from Ben Affleck in one of the most anticipated films ever?

This guy was in the news today. I had forgotten all about him. Handsome guy but remember when he was paired with Michael Bay's aggressive use of bronzer, lighting and camera angles to really doll him up? Made his character in Pearl Harbor is legitimately one of the best looking male characters in film history. Ben Affleck was supposed to be the big star but as soon as Hartnett showed up screen...That is one chiseled, well-structured face.

Surprised someone as talented and attractive didn't become a bigger star.
