The real reason people are upset is because they know how it feels to be called straight or gay when you are intact bi. The old idea that no one is actually bi, they either don't want to admit they are homosexual or they are confused. So even thought the person in question isn't evolved in the conversation, there is still reason to call out your ignorance.
