So those newly released photos were actually from before he returned home since he said he had blonde highlights and had to cut his hair. I do find it so sad about wanting to see, be with and have contact with family, friends and loved ones and him not being able to do that. I guess one of the most powerful tools that cults like Scientology, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Orthodox Jews and Amish have is excommunication and shunning.

It is just brutal, that all or nothing blackmail they have hanging over their heads if they don’t agree and never being able to be with loved ones again. Being deprived of even causal contact with your father, mother and siblings and them not even having the option of maintaining a relationship with you as it would be against their religion is a heartbreaking scenario. It’s like that disownment from being gay on steroids and ten times harder for families to work through and break down since it’s just not ones parents and families beliefs you have to transcend, but the whole rhetoric of a cult.

This all makes me very sad for him and the gay community he finds himself in, porn oriented, isn’t going to be the most supportive and can be highly exploitive. I’m anti religious and atheist, but I try and be respectful of people who are religious and it also makes me sad for him to think he can’t still have a relationship with God and be Christian and not a sinner because he is gay or sexual. I hope he finds some gay Christian organizations to connect with there and find support and community.
