My point was from a PR point of view, if you are trying to promote a show about two guys getting together; then you don’t want to spoil the illusion if one of the, is straight. Especially if they are painfully straight. Not that Kit comes across as that, but there are some actors who give off a vine that they are running to their girlfriends after they film a kissing scene with a guy.

Sadly this kind of behavior is common from straight and queer "fans" alike. I think the situation is more complicated in case of Kit because he already has a long established career and would definitely continue to act in more roles. He seems focussed on making it big as an actor, which means he would have to craft his image with more care than his other co-stars. Kit also seems a much more reserved guy and someone who cherishes his privacy.

Does anybody actually have some kind of a source for this non-girlfriend receiving hate, or is everyone just freaking out about like, one random twitter or tiktok post? Everything I've seen of this girl refers to her as a "friend" and has been nothing but kind. In fact, despite everyone clutching at their pearls because of a few bad apples, the Hearstopper fandom has largely been extremely kind and warm compared to just about any other on the internet.
