Which island spa?Anyone heading to Island Spa in the afternoon/ evening?
I hate guys that treat a "public" private space like this. There is a tall black guy at Equinox Culver City (have sometimes seen him at Bev Hills) who's tall and lean and may as well be a We Ho mean gay. He's hardly anything special. But he conveys so much hostility to anyone who's not his type, including a sexy lean muscled Asian who told me about that in Bev Hills, who I personally think is VERY sexy! You would think the steam room was his own private space. It's so f-ing rude. This happens at most LA Korean spas where the white Weho elite have taken over, namely Century but also sometimes at others.
If you are a straight Asian patron (usual older), non-Asian guys will clear out the room when you enter. I guess they're afraid of getting reported (I've seen both straight and gay patrons reporting too much action, which is when the staff makes everyone leave to "clean"). However, in recent months, I have seen (typically white) patrons glare at older Korean ones, sigh loudly, or roll their eyes just because they feel "their space" has been invaded by Koreans (ironic, I know). Since they can't flat out say "leave" to a Korean, they basically make the environment as hostile as possible through body language until he leaves.
If you're a gay Asian, you are treated to the typical "no Asians attitude" prevalent in LA. I will hold doors open for guys, let them go ahead in the water fountain, etc. In turn, they close doors in my face, cut in line, try to shove me aside to get to whoever they're interested in. One time there was a guy who chucked a wet towel hard across the steam room and almost hit me in the face. When I said "hey!" he claimed to have not seen me because of the steam but you never know what one's motivation is. Keep in mind I was a good 12-15 feet away and just sitting there minding my business.
If I am sitting in a room, they will open the door, look at me, close the door and walk away. They don't do that to an older, unfit white guy. And no, I do not creep on these guys, look at them, squeeze my way in to sit near them, etc.
This happens EVERY visit. I have gotten used to it. I don't want to "offend" anyone with my Asian presence, so I actually limit where I go. If anyone knows the layout of Century, I rarely go "around the corner" in the steam room or patio. I also try and keep track of all the guys who walk out on me and avoid the rooms they're in because I don't want to be glared at. Of course that can be several guys across only a few rooms so at that point I'm out of options.
Immersion Spa in Palo Alto is similar because of it's proximity to Stanford. In my one and only visit, I showered (as is the protocol) and walked around to explore the rooms. I opened the door to the steam room and a group of white guys literally pushed their way past me. All I did was open the door. Later, I went over to the sauna and the same thing happened. And again. And again. If I was in one room they flocked to another. Keep in mind it was my first visit and I didn't know these guys from Adam, nor engaged them in any way. They actually glared/looked down at me as they were exiting and then would ignore me in the shared spaces. I will never forget that hurt and probably never go there again.
Unsure. Just play it as safe as you can. I’m planning on heading to Island today myself.Should I worry about going to a Korean spa in NJ (King or Island Spa) with monkeypox going around? Or is it hard to get in that type of environment?
There was a new major study that just came out. The largest and most detailed study so far. Basically, they concluded it is unlikely to spread from casual contact like you would be experiencing at a spa. It’s from anal sex (NOT ejaculating in him, necessarily) that it’s spreading, they believe. Just google “monkeypox study“ and you can read about it. Their conclusions say unless you’re going around having anal sex with many partners you shouldn’t worry.Should I worry about going to a Korean spa in NJ (King or Island Spa) with monkeypox going around? You mean jerking onto another video person? Sounds like you could get at a spa or many places. There was a new major study that just came out. The largest and most detailed study so far. Sorry, I mean, the report finds it‘s not cumming inside him during sex that causes the spread, its the actual anal sex. Seems confusing to me, but the paper didn’t say why they think this is. Whether you cum/bleed or not, if you’re having anal sex with new or multiple partners you are at risk of catching it, according to the numbers. If not, the data shows you shouldn’t contract it from other types of contact like stroking, kissing or blowing a guy. It appears cum (or blood, spit, or pee) has nothing to do with it.You mean jerking onto another video person? Sounds like you could get at a spa or many places.

I’m not saying this is 100% accurate or true, but it’s the best information we have available today. Based on this, I will be visiting spas in Seattle and Simi Valley this week.
Monkeypox Virus Infection in Humans across 16 Countries — April–June 2022 | NEJMCan you please provide the link to the information you mentioned? It doesn't sound like a study to me but someone's opinion. I don't want people getting this information without any evident.
Here is the link to how it spread: Monkeypox in the U.S.
Thank you. I didn’t have it handy.
