Y'all might be interested, I posted a video last week using many photos from Life magazine, other magazines and private collections. It is just a slideshow of men nude during WWII. I wish the mods would allow video embedding from Youtube.

These baseball player pictures are interesting. In one of them, I think the guy is uncut. This would indicate that young american adults in late 1930s were not yet widely circumcised.

Proves what I have always said that prudishness about nudity among men is a new phenomenon. This is a great example of old being better than new.

I agree, for those of us who are older these pictures show the norm when we were younger. I think the prudishness has come about in the last 20 years or so, during the feminist and gay movements. I continue to hope we can turn this around and return to the openess of my youth.

Another aspect of those pictures that is good: In most pictures of the 40s and even 50s and earlyer as well, adult males that are pictured as athletic tend to be fatter and less atjletic than current standards.

But in those pictures, it showed baseball players with "modern bodies" in terms of athletic shapes/muscle and body fat levels. It breaks an image that back then, athletic men wwere much fatter than now.

i assume there's no uptightness about nudity in the armed forces today either -- don't they have toilets without stall doors -- or without stalls at all? Always wonder how long it takes to get used to THAT. I mean after you've seen a guy wipe himself. it'd be no big deal just having him wave his dick around -- unlesss, of course, his dick WAS a "big deal."

No, they say that RIC didn't start until the late 1940s. The circumcision rates were negligable until the 1950s

In those old pics you don't see as often the bulging, sculpted muscles of today's athletes and bodybuilders in part because back then, few men went to a gym regularly to work out. Also, today there is a greater importance given to the cosmetic value of a muscular build. In the 1940s, muscles were valued for their functionality, not so much for their appearance.
