Matt Bomer

I'm kinda on the fence when it comes to sex scenes in Fellow Travelers. For a mainstream project, they truly are explicit and probably outrageous by most people's standards. Let's not forget most of the audience is not as porn-brained as us on this forum.

On the other hand… I kinda feel like something's lacking. With the exception of the pilot and ep 7, I didn't find any of the scenes particularly hot. At times it felt like they were just trying to be edgy for the sake of it. The chemistry between the characters could've been much better captured by longer scenes with eye contact, verbal back-and-forth, etc.

All in all, definitely a huge step forward for queer sexuality in mainstream media. The execution's not the best, but hopefully it opens doors for someone to come next and do an even better job. Let's see how they wrap it up in the final ep.

Probably in the minority but I don't really care about the sex scenes. Even if they're not as passionate or full of chemistry, to me they're absolutely fine and a bonus touch. I'm much more invested in the dramatic aspects of the show and seeing how their relationship progresses in that time period.

But that's how I am with sex in media in general. I'm not against it by any means, but I'll focus on the story first.

On one hand I am enjoying the story and happy these two got to do this project.

But since nudity is the focus of this forum …

I have never seen more “side ass” in a series. Both have been more nude in other projects. You got the longest look at Matt’s butt in the straight sex scene. You did get the shot tracking in directly at it even though it was fast. Jonathan was ass out in Bridgerton more than once. I once described this show as very “horny.” I should say for the amount of sexy stuff that happened you saw less than both leads would usually show.

But again, I think it’s a good show and I am happy they made it but I probably would have watched it even without those scenes.

I should also add that they made the sex scenes a topic in articles and interviews so I don’t think anyone should feel weird about commenting on them. They made it a selling point. They could have blocked any questions relating to them.

So, TIL that Matt and Lee Pace shared a one-bedroom in the West Village when they were trying to make it as struggling actors and now I can't stop thinking of all the sweaty sex that was had in that apartment.

I liked the sex scenes in Fellow Travelers. They appealed to my kinky side. I would have also liked to see the passionate side of their lovemaking that is based on the feelings they had for each other too but it was such a completely dysfunctional relationship. That we got a lot of sweet and intimate scenes between them because Hawk softened quite a bit after with Skippy impacted me more NGL. But, even the sex with Skippy though, it was still relatively tame, compared to how brutal Hawk was with the other men he hooked up with in the 50s.

Meanwhile, what's I'm struggling with is how the story picked up from where the book finishes. I had such high hopes for episodes 6 and 7 and I feel like they are not giving the same quality. The depth of feelings I got out of episodes 1-5 were even triggering to me at times and I spent quite a bit of time processing those feels and just recovering TBH. Episodes 6 and 7 weren't bad but I could move on from them more easily and much faster. I'm hoping the last episode will find a way to tie all the loose ends (for example the brother-in-law) and give the series an ending it deserves. It's still pretty ground-breaking for TV!

What is that from? When did they work with Sarah Michelle Gellar?
SMG and Pace starred in a movie called Possession in 2009, they became friends. This was taken around that time.

I have found the same. Episodes 1-5 I think were much better but 5 and 6 were still good.

If I didn't know any better, I would think this two are indeed an item in real life. Watching some of their joint interviews as well, specifically the one from The View, their chemistry is there ... off screen.
I like the fantasy. I think they're good at indulging us some more, especially Jonathan who spoils the fans of whatever show he's promoting. I'm not sure why Matty is taking him everywhere with him but I sure am glad he is.

No different than when a man and woman who work on a film together and play a couple promote their film.

Fellow Travelers however... is still airing. There is nothing strange or noteworthy about any of this.
Again, this is a different project altogether. The buzz for Fellow Travlers is there, no need to continue the push in this way with one episode left. But based on this footage one would think this film stars Johnathan too as his romantic lead.

I’m here for their friendship, they seemed to get along very well on & offscreen.
