My question is pertaining to western society only but I would like to know that if there ever be a time in the near future when men in the west won't be judged or tagged as gay just because they like to wear smaller underwear (like briefs, bikini briefs, tanga briefs, etc) .. just like women's sexuality in the west isn't judged whether they wear panties or thongs, g strings etc. From my experience, I have heard enough bad comments just for wearing briefs but it doesn't happen in other parts of the world as people wearing briefs or boxer briefs or trunks are all normal there... any comments?

I Definitely wear smaller underwear when the temperature gets hotter. Who cares what others-think

For the first 40 years of my life, I wore only briefs. This was followed by 20 years when I wore boxer shorts under my suit for work provided the trousers were lined. Otherwise, I wore bikini briefs, thongs, and g-strings or went commando. Now it's almost always g-strings or nothing and I haven't anything that covers more than a thong.
I've never had an adverse comment, even in changing rooms.

i agree with your comment that we shouldn't care about others opinion.. but what i am saying is if women's sexuality is not judged because of the length of their underwear, then why should men be judged... and i have been to beaches in US and Canada, and around 99% of men wear board shorts, and women are in bikinis, so there must be some reasons which are causing men there not to wear smaller bikini equivalent swimwear..

In the UK everyone wore briefs until the mid 80s when the fashion changed towards boxers then boxer briefs . I sense smaller styles are coming back now mainstream stores are starting to stock things and jocks

Not seen any evidence of this in changing rooms unfortunately. I’d say 99% of guys are wearing boxer briefs or trunks

also, what is the general perception of men there about men wearing briefs or other smaller underwear.. is it like nobody cares what other men wear just like society doesn't seem to care about the length of women's underwear?

A shot to the male ego. If it's snug or small, it shows your form without a doubt. If it's big and loose, you can say what you want and there's nothing to show to suggest otherwise.
so, you are suggesting men don't wear skimpy underwear because of size complex. a valid point .and i can understand that.. but what could be the issue behind them passing bad comments about those men who do wear smaller underwear.. and why to always center those comments around sexuality of the men, i fail to understand how men's underwear is associated with sexuality but women's underwear is not..

and i just checked your pics and you definitely have a very good undies collection.. so, i am asking if you are able to wear those without getting any weird looks or comments (i mean like in changing room or beach etc.)?

My preference is a G string, small and comfortable - other wise it's a biker jock - do I get looks in the changing room - not that I'm aware of.
oh really, have you never ever gotten any weird looks or comments from anyone in the changing room or whoever saw you in your underwear... i am surprised..

I've worn briefs pretty much all of my life at the 50+/- years... Trunks and Commando within the last 20+/- years. (G / thongs were a small timeline from a GF at that point who enjoyed the way they looked on me and had a wrap for my balls when she just wanted to play with my cock or suck on it.... She was weirded out by balls).
Honestly never took a man for being anything of /or questions on sexuality based on his underwear until the last few years when it's been like a marker for gay/Bi men to wear a certain cut on purpose or always wear jocks.

Polite statements from hes gay or hes light in the loafers or they wear comfortable shoes were nicer then the other statements made.
I'm not being ignorant just stating times change and words and apparently clothing for non straight men from the 70s to the 2020s
