you're seeing the platform as what those 3 have in common, i'm seeing sexuality. queer actors playing queer characters will always be more liked and attract more people than straight dudes being given queer parts.
kit connor also falls under that, because while he hasn't really said much about his sexuality, most people believe him to be bisexual. with michael, everyone knows it's another straight dude playing a gay character(and a gay character that isn't that well liked tbh)

All of the roles he has had, he's done just fine. He hasn't gotten a role that really lets him display range. Victor is a pretty one-note character and by the end of the series, all of his friends' arcs were more interesting than Victor's.
