I wonder if chest hair was more prevalent in the olden days or now?
This is one of the oldest photos in my collection. It shows 8 members of the 1911 Phillies on a beach in Cuba. Two of them are showing some hair on their chests. For those interested, the players' names are starting from the left: Fred Luderus (1885-1961), Bill Killefer (1887-1960), George Chalmers (1888-1960), Sherry Magee (1884-1929), Hans Lobert (1881-1968), Jimmy “Runt” Walsh (1886-1947), Otto Knabe (1884-1961) and Toots Shultz (1888-1959).

1939 Lou Gehrig Farewell original news photograph. One of the most heartwarming and heartbreaking photographs in the history of the game of baseball captures the Babe giving a hug to his old teammate Lou Gehrig after he presented his famous "Luckiest Man" speech to a packed Yankee Stadium on July 4, 1939. The expressions on their faces say it all. Verso: "Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig. Taken at Yankee Stadium on Lou Gehrig Day."
