Monsta X Wonho

I'm not into kpop, so can someone clear something up for me? Do a lot of them get facial surgery?
Plastic surgery in general is very big in South Korea, so much so that it's not uncommon to pay for it outright as a gift to someone for minor procedures; it's the plastic surgery capital of the world.

And that's coupled with a very judgmental society that places a high value on looks.

Additionally, I think the pressure comes with the job. Even in Hollywood, you can see a few such cases of celebrities getting work done to the point that it's a detriment.

I don't know if my perception is right, but what I notice that's different from Hollywood is that the Kpop stars seem to get surgery when they are really young and before they are really famous?

Unfortunately, it happens, though it'll also depend on the company. Not just surgery but exteme diets as well, luckily that part is changing. Lookism plays a huge role in why this happens. While companies aren't forcing them to get surgery, keep in mind that some idols are trainees for 5, 7, sometimes 10 years+, having that upper hand is going to help, especially if the person is already talented. It's sad and a huge reason why idols that debuted at a young age have spoken out about how harmful the industry can be to a child's mental state and the body issues that it can create.
