Some of my favourites:

"You're actually a lot smarter than you look" (gee, thanks)

"You'd be really hot if you had boobs" (from several men, including exes)

"You have good calves.. is it because you're short and wear heels all the time?"

"I'm usually into tall, busty redheads" (zero out of three, thx)​

From my mom, Grand Master of Negging, when I said I didn't feel like bacon and eggs for breakfast:

"You know if you ate more real food you wouldn't have to wear a push-up bra all the time"

Moms will nag their child of literally any age. It doesn't matter how long we've been adults. I'm an adult, yet mom still lovingly and frustratingly nags me about safety, food, sleep etc.

There is no should or shouldn't for moms. They do what they feel is their right to do, or some such nonsense.

This just happened to me last Wednesday. I went to a job site to lend a hand with demo (my favorite), and there was a new contractor's crew there. I wear a t-shirt, shorts and work boots when I work on site.

One of the men who didn't know me gave his shot, something like this:

Him: You look like you work out.

Me: I do.

Him: Man, I bet you could hurt me (and he laughed)

I looked at him with my classic boss bitch face and said "More than you know."

I'm anxious to know if he'll be there next Tuesday when I go back.

I've had a few dudes attempt a "neg" approach. Making these assbutts cry and question thier life choices is kind of a hobby.

Turns out PUA/INCELs are a fragile lot.

It has happened enough where I can actually see it coming, so naturally I prepare my defense. Sometimes it doesn't happen and I feel bad for letting myself get to where this is a natural response.

If someone had tried steal your bag, and you recognized the same/similar actions in another person... Is it wrong to move your bag to your other shoulder? Clutch it tighter?

PUA/INCELs are not misguided guys trying to meet the right gal pal. They seek out and study ways to manipulate women for less than reputable reasons.

No one should tolerate negging (or being baited ).

I started this thread mostly so we can laugh at some pathetic examples.. but also so that people who aren't aware that it's even happening to them can recognize it and put an end to it.
Both men and women use it as psychological tool to break down someone's self-esteem and confidence

That said, this is women's issues, and popular male-dominated PUA communities are preaching it as a recommended tactic for dating and controlling someone in a relationship.
But if you have anything constructive to add, please go ahead..

Men may be doing it, but they can't possibly be better at it than a mother. My mother never, ever said anything that didn't qualify as negging. Her mother also did it a lot but usually behind the subject's back. Do female bosses do it too? (I've never had one so don't know.)

Negging is associated with flirting. The person gives you a back-handed compliment so that you seek their approval. Bit odd for mom to be flirting with you, but hey, it's 2020.
Nagging is not the same thing as negging.
