A guy who works for me and has a hard time getting girls asked my advice on what to say to a girl he met on a dating app when he met her... And I told him to compliment her and gave him an example of a nice opening compliment.
And he came back the next day and told me the line I gave him didn't work at all...
He told me he walked up to her and said, " You look better than your pictures...."
I did a facepalm and replied, " what I said to say was, 'wow, you look EVEN better than your pictures'".
He explained that He realized that the moment he said it and saw her expression, so he tried to recover and blurted out, " Its okay, my pictures suck, too".
Inadvertant negging...
soooo... that didn't work out well for him.
