Could be he's criticizing a Black man (Lacy) who said back in 2017 (or whenever it was) that he could not date ANY other Black men because we're too brotherly (WTF?) but if someone Black is attracted to someone else who isn't Black on an individual basis, that's a very different thing. Nico is a Black/Afrolatino man, and I doubt he'd rule out dating all other Black/Afrolatino brothas. Lacy's perspective is a categorical rejection of others like himself, which on one level isn't surprising given we live in a racist and white supremacist, colonized society, and lots of people internalize the hatred and loathe themselves or people like themselves, but the other approach might result from different circumstances. Like, you live in an town or area where there are no other people like you and you fall in love. So I see it less as clout and more as a rational assessment.
