Based on my experience I really believe guys who hang out nude with their mates, have heaps of non-sexual physical intimacy along with the occasional jerk off together have stronger bonds, a healthier perspective of sex and are less aggressive.

I agree. I think most guys are touch-starved. It also seems to be a general guy thing to like being naked (as has been noted here on lost many times). Seeing many guys naked helps you realizes that 'normal' is not nearly as narrow as the media tells us. Circle jerks help a guy learn that it's normal to have a dick that just will not stop demanding attention and that giving it that attention in a group setting indicates nothing about sexual sexual orientation. This all would tend to lead to lower stress levels which would tend to lead to lower levels of aggression.

Another not new comment: imagine what the world would be like if every single guy were getting laid on a regular basis....

It was bad enough with religious conservatives, yet the feminists have taken it to a whole different level. Even when they say men should be more intimate with each other they still set the parameters to what they consider to be healthy and appropriate.

A genuine friendship between men is one where both guys are totally comfortable exploring the full spectrum of physical intimacy from non-sexual to sexual (e.g. jerking off, giving head, MMF etc...) with each other. This has nothing to do with being gay, bi or straight. It's how real men bond.

I was just thinking the younger guys here should know this pic isn't that unusual. All these bonding activities continue into retirement. If anything, guys in their 50s and 60s are faster to take their clothes off than when they were younger. We might not be as athletic as we were 30 years ago, but otherwise not much has changed.

I really believe heteroromantic concepts of love, particularly the binary of romantic and platonic are what causes a lot of problems.

Why should a life long deep friendship between two men end or be considered lesser when one of the men enters a romantic relationship with a woman? In reality they should be considered equal, yet fulfilling different needs.

Also don't push things, just let it evolve naturally. Usually when guys are sunbathing or hanging out with others naked and they're in their undies or bathers they soon take everything off to fit in with the group.

I don't agree with blaming it on Christianity. Think about it, the YMCA required nude swimming among males of all ages. We grew up with open locker rooms, and gang style showers.
Also, I think lack of time spent with dads/sons in the company of other guys is a factor. Too many people are spending time in front of the TV and electronics. They run like headless chickens trying to do everything that is available but spend so little time on relationships.

You are so right. My wife is jealous of me having any male friends even though she spends hours on the internet and FB. I do so miss the open showers, not in a sexual way but it made you feel like part of a group and being naked with all the other men is such an equalizer. I think younger men have grown up being taught a high level of modesty and in some homophobic households so they back away from any form of male bonding that involves body contact or nudity because they equate it with sexual behavior. Guys need to learn that sitting around with your buddies in your underwear playing video games or cards and having a beer is perfectly normal for men and not sexual at all.
