Older guys who grew up before the manscaping era: do you shave or trim now, and why?

I remember back in probably the late70s I saw a magazine with a photo feature about a wrestling coach who was trying to get a couple of his team to be more aggressive. He proposed a match where the winner would get to shave the pubes off the loser.

There is an early Rob Lowe movie in which he is a hockey player and new to a team and for his initiation they grab him, strip him, hold him down on a bench, and shave his pubic hair.

I grew up before manscaping was a thing, but I like to manscape as I personally think it looks better. I trim the length of my pubes, but don't shave them entirely off. I don't have much hair on my balls or shaft, but I shave my balls and base of my shaft. I like the way I look when groomed.

Born mid sixties so obviously most were not shaved or trimmed, it seemed. However once I was away from home and could do as I pleased I used to trim down with clippers pretty regularly. I was quite furry and it just too warm for me. Finally started getting my back crack and sack waxed and loved that. Born in the 60s. Started with just trimming a few years ago to clean up for all the pictures and videos I do. I was always a little concerned about getting a blade too close to the boys. However, a months ago I gave it a shot.

Still, since both of my heads have been bald for quite some time I was hesitant to shave off the last vestiges of a once glorious crop of red hair, but I think I like my hairless balls and shaft base better this way. I have a nice patch of red hair above everything. Think I’ll keep it for a while.

Also, I’m a little worried that if I let it grow back, it’ll come back gray.

My grandpa thought it was the most ridiculous thing. He had a good bush and when he first saw I had shaved my bush he was dumbfounded. He was saying hair is meant to be there, that a good bush can be attractive to women, that it's a manly look. I used to shave my balls, back, and upper arms (and face) and trim pubes and chest hair. But I got involved with a young guy who is now my husband. He loves man fur and musk. I’m 54 and my pubes went prematurely gray in my late twenties. The rest of the hair on my body and head followed along about twenty years later. I also have brown skin and really hate the look of the white pubes contrasted against my black balls and dick. I started shaving my pubes close when there were a few grays. That was fine. Then the grays became too overwhelming so I now shave everything off. I miss my virile dark bush, but being shaved is better for pre and post sex clean up.

However - I got into waxing my shaft, balls and crack about 15 years ago. I get a lot more tongue action these days And the feeling of no hair, and no itchy regrowth is fantastic. I trim the bush mildly once or twice a year.

Having no hair around my shaft is super comfortable and perfect for penetration. Similarly, a smooth hole is much more comfortable for the top if I’m in the bending over kinda mood!

If I’m with a guy, I really like body hair though. Backs, chests, legs and bum are such a turn on for me - but he’ll get a lot more lovin if his balls are smooth!

I do it for me, not anyone else - and not because it I think it looks better - because I feel more confident and better about myself for being smooth where it counts.

Never gave manscaping a thought before coming on here. Now I keep my shaft, balls and crack shaved, as well as shaving my pubes back about an inch or so from the base of my dick. The rest of my pubes I leave at nearly full length, but I do trim them so that the longest hairs are the same length.
