OnlyFans videos now defaulting to DRM/streaming

For the last week or two, almost any newly posted video I watch or buy on OnlyFans has played really badly.

The videos default to the lowest resolution and the playback tends to be really jerky.

You can manually go in and change the resolution, but even then, the playback isn't perfect.

I think I just learned why. An OF model I subscribe to said that a PPV video he just posted had automatically uploaded with DRM, without him choosing DRM, causing playback problems for many viewers. He re-posted it, intending to post it without DRM this time, but the re-post still had the technical problems, so it apparently still had DRM.

It looks like the new default DRM does this:

- previously, videos at OnlyFans were a single genuine video file

- now, the videos are streaming, they're not full whole video files

It's ruining the playback. I'll be avoiding most newly posted videos at OF until this is fixed. It doesn't seem to be affecting old videos poosted before about May 1, they still seem to play as a whole video file.

I was just chatting with the model and he figured out what happened.

OnlyFans has, indeed, now made DRM a default on all videos. Each model needs to turn it off manually in their settings. I'm not sure if they need to turn it off every time they post a video, but it seems likely.

Unless they deactivate DRM before posting a video, it will default to low-res streaming only.

So is there a list of accounts that are currently using DRM? From what I have read, it's an option to turn on/off. That would explain why some videos will not play very well. frustrating,

The issue is that, as of a week or two ago, OnlyFans seemingly made DM the default for all (or at least many) accounts, without notifying anyone. I've encountered this problem on multiple accounts that I bought videos from in the last few days.

The model I was chatting with had not chosen to activate DRM, but was getting complaints from his followers after they bought videos that wouldn't play properly.

He investigated and discovered DRM was default set to "ON."

Here's where it is, circled in red, in the settings that content creators have:

As you can see, the fine print does say that "DRM protection may limit the ability of fans using older devices to view this video content." They're not kidding. Adding DRM makes the videos a nightmare to view. Luckily, the model I chatted with was happy to remove it.

I think this is going to cause no end of headaches for content creators, and also for fans, who will pay money for videos, only to find them unwatchable.

I suspect it'll cause a lot of people to drop their subscriptions, and many models won't even know why.

The explanation is in my post above.

OnlyFans recently changed ALL accounts so the default setting for ALL videos is streaming DRM. Models need to manually change the settings if they want to make the videos available for normal viewing as normal video files. Otherwise, they default to streaming only.

This has ruined the site so badly. I personally like to download things I pay for but you can't even stream them anymore with the resolution being fuzzy and bad. It sucks and totally ruins the OF user experience.

Absolutely. I've already messaged the guys I subscribe to about it and only one has turned it off. The others haven’t responded or made any changes but I will be turning off the auto-renew for the upcoming month if nothing changes and I'll be sure to let them know why I'm unsubscribing. It sucks but it’s the way it is now.

weird because i re-subscribed to Austin Avery just a few days ago and I was still able to use the downloader I have to get the videos.

I hope someone finds some type of hack through this DRM shenanigans, most of the people I support are using it and I can't even download any of their content anymore. Onlyfans is gonna be in a drought because of this lol. Somebody please find some type of hack to download lol.

That's exactly what I'm saying, there's no point of doing the PPV if you're gonna do all that lol. Plus I make custom content purchases from a few and I see no point of doing it anymore since I can't download jack. They'll realize once OF starts declining and losing subscribers

It's a bummer to hear about the playback issues on OnlyFans lately. It sounds like the default DRM setting is causing some trouble for both creators and viewers. The shift from full video files to streaming might be the reason behind the jerky playback and low resolution. It's understandable that you're hesitant to watch newly posted videos until this gets fixed. Hopefully, the OnlyFans team is aware of the problem and working on a solution to improve the viewing experience for everyone. In the meantime, you can check out this paige vanzant onlyfans leak. Well we all know why for sure bud . I could understand it for the content creators that post full length videos but for the ones who post 10 seconds all the time definitely don't need to be using it lol. However it's still dumb

Pretty much to prevent their content from being leaked and shared. Problem is we are already paying for a subscription fee and majority of their videos are under a paywall as well. When we pay for those videos, we should be able to do whatever we want with it.
