Tragic, he was on my list of people to sub to that i discovered entirely because other people posted his content lol.

Same! That’s how I end up subscribing to most accounts - I see leaks on here and twitter and sub for more. They don’t understand that, though.

And remember that everything up until May 2023 is still downloadable! So take what you can get now before they delete everything and reupload with DRM

The issue is that, as of a week or two ago, OnlyFans seemingly made DM the default for all (or at least many) accounts, without notifying anyone. I've encountered this problem on multiple accounts that I bought videos from in the last few days.

The model I was chatting with had not chosen to activate DRM, but was getting complaints from his followers after they bought videos that wouldn't play properly.

He investigated and discovered DRM was default set to "ON."

Here's where it is, circled in red, in the settings that content creators have:

As you can see, the fine print does say that "DRM protection may limit the ability of fans using older devices to view this video content." They're not kidding. Adding DRM makes the videos a nightmare to view. Luckily, the model I chatted with was happy to remove it.

I think this is going to cause no end of headaches for content creators, and also for fans, who will pay money for videos, only to find them unwatchable.

I suspect it'll cause a lot of people to drop their subscriptions, and many models won't even know whyI

I guess this is because most of their content can be found on torrent sites so they are trying to stamp this out as they are losing money. But if the fans cannot download their content they will just stop subscribing so it lose lose situation.

I have more to share on who uses DRM. I told them you can’t cast to your tv and have poor quality, some said this is to protect us. From what a bad few that will find away anyways! I Pay and never share but my experience is now poor. Yea..mess up the experience for your paying customers:

Like I said earlier most of there stuff is uploaded to torrent so this is to stop this practice but its gong to back fired on them as punters will stop subscribing to their accounts.

When you say those who use torrent had no intention of paying I thought most of these sites you has to subscribe to and pay for like My Vidster. Re the creators I would never pay from the baiters directly as they are not worth it and are wasted of money. Re the other creators who have great action I have subscribed to but get bored very quickly as they all morph into one to be fair.

I made it clear the issues we are having with the settings over there so that if any creator comes across it they know that we are all together with having these issues & that they are being listed out directly in a thread about this. I made it clear how to search for the users people might want to search for. And made it clear how creators in the future can change their name being on the list.

When you play a video and it starts playing at the lowest quality resolution is what I see the most commonly known notice to understand that DRM is on.

If you use Firefox or Brave, you can turn off the browser's ability to play DRM files. When off and viewing a creator's page, you will see the DRM post blurred with the wording saying the file is not playable.

The easiest guaranteed ways to know if they have DRM is :

1. Attempt to screen record their MOST recent video on your iPhone. If it doesn’t allow you to do so & it’s heavily glitched out DRM.

2. If you have an iPhone simply put on “mirror screen” or attempt to directly cast their most recent video individually. To your tv. ( If you have a smart Tv). If you’re mirroring your screen to your tv everything will be completely normal until you scroll down to their video & try to play it. It will completely black out your screen & possibly fuck your phone up for a few moments where you aren’t even able to mirror your screen. If you attempt to cast the individual video to your tv it will also just be black or just never play.

I prefer the screen recording method as it takes like 10 seconds at most.

Oh & the most important detail is yes it has to be their most recent video. As videos made before May 2023 will not have this issues. Unless wow their even further assholes & deleted all their vids from before may 2023 most have not gone this far though. I think it’s probably too much work for some & their overall likes will take a hit. And the other reason is maybe they’re a toggler. I have not experienced one nor do I truly know in depth how the system works.

But I know when a person toggles the DRM setting off all of their videos become non DRM. What I don’t know is if these newly non DRM videos are labeled as special. Meaning I don’t know if they will now permanently be non DRM. Or if they are having something built into them in the case the creator decides to turn drm back on. And they automatically will go back to being DRM since their special or if hey are treated now like the videos before may 2023 that are like I said permanently non DRM now. I hope it’s the latter because it will really put a hole in creators not wanting to toggle unless they are committing to it.

If anyone has experience with this, this info would be really helpful. If they’ve come across a creator that turned it off then on again & how it effected their newer videos.
