Note: In some cases, it may be hard to download 1080p files with FetchV. If it keeps getting out of memory no matter what you do, you may need to settle for the 540p file.
@l3xd That's because the apparent DRM makes the regular MP4 file go through an encryption process. In order for you to grab it, the file must go through a fetching process (caching and parsing) so you can then download it on your own device as a regular MP4 file. A bit tedious, but it works. So far, FetchV is the only browser extension I found to be working.
Everything else (incl. CocoCut) failed.
StreamFork claims to be conceived specifically for that task (download of DRM files on OF, and I guess also JFF), but it requires a $10 payment without any free trials so you can make sure it works for you.
Also... Streaming on JFF (whether at 540p or 1080p) seems to be shaky these days with that VideoJS player. Maybe it's just on my end, but I'm having a harder time steaming, and that sometimes happens on OF too.
That's the thing... They only want us to stream, not download, but streaming is sometimes near impossible because of all that DRM foolishness.
1. They don't want us to download because
some models are not big name porn stars and wish to remain "anonymous" while showing their goods and doing the deed on cam for extra income. Those models want to make sure their stuff can only be seen while online on the platform. But many of them show sneak peaks on Twitter/X, Instagram, and such work is never completely anonymous. They have no idea who could subscribe to such portals...
2. They don't want us to download in order to fight piracy. Sure, but most members who download
only do so for their own personal viewing (with maybe one or more partners next to them). After all, we pay monthly dollars (up to $70+) for that stuff. Of course, we would not want all of it out there for free!
Those who do make that stuff available for free on tubes, torrents and forums are usually tech-savvy and know how to use scrapers to bypass any type of DRM, no matter how sophisticated.
For this reason, I'd advise members of this forum to refrain from sharing stuff unless it is no longer commercially available (deleted scenes, etc.) or of course their own creation. Sharing commercially available stuff is used as "justification" for DRM.
I'm not quite ready to completely give up on JFF/OF, but all such issues are surely annoying. If it becomes too much of a hassle, maybe we should just stick to the studio sites (most of which allow downloads).
RawAlphaMales has a JFF/OF style, shows multiple angles of unedited scenes, there are download options (at no additional cost), and there's of course no DRM and no PPV. And
MichaelLucas.com (about the same as Michael Lucas' JFF and OF) has no DRM and no PPV.
