"Not every conservative is a Bible thumping christian, and not every Christian that says they're against homosexuality hates homosexuals. They're mostly just deluded and think they are loving their neighbour by telling you that your sin is taking you to hell. Their intentions count more than someone who claims to be offended by what they say. It's usually better to grow some thicker skin." I agree. I even read that there's this one conservative who supports gay marriage because it shows that this is an important intitution for a society. So, I agree that not everybody is fundamentalist. However, they appear to be a minority. Not every conservative is a Bible thumping christian, and not every Christian that says they're against homosexuality hates homosexuals. Sure there is homophobia too, but most so called homophobia you hear about nowadays is exaggerated and doesn't go so deep. The last time I encountered what I would consider true homophobia was 14 years ago. Unless you're living in Uganda or alike, we don't have much to complain about in the western world anymore, and it is not a wise move to poke conservatives in the eye with a stick like the movement has been doing more and more in recent years.
Trump is not a homophobe. Not even close.

Loads of trumpists praise Uganda on they way they treat homosexuality. If you have in group, many people who like a certain thing, that thing is a distinctive feature of that group. They wouldn't support someone who's not on the same page as they are.
