Some degree of self hate is actually a good thing. It prevents me from acting like a total fool in the street with the rest of the turds during pride month I don't begrudge anyone having a party. I do however begrudge people who mistake their sexuality for some massively important signifier that not only demands that other people respect them, but also pay them some special dues.

I am against gay marriage, especially in church. That's like a jew who wants to become a nazi. What was so wrong about civil unions? And gays buying children through surrogacy is disgusting! I for one would not want to be without my mom and dad.

I am not saying there isn't gays who experience homophobia in the western world. All I am saying is that it is not the norm anymore. Many gays are using the term homophobia to play a victim and to shut up people they disagree with.

I'm not daying that you have to support everything a group does, I don't. That's how we grow. But to support people who make no effort to hide that they hate you is simply cognitive dissonance.

Sure there is homophobia too, but most so called homophobia you hear about nowadays is exaggerated and doesn't go so deep. The last time I encountered what I would consider true homophobia was 14 years ago. Unless you're living in Uganda or alike, we don't have much to complain about in the western world anymore, and it is not a wise move to poke conservatives in the eye with a stick like the movement has been doing more and more in recent years.

But I am unbothered by the christians portion of Trump supporters.
Most of them don't actually hate gays. They have just been convinced by religion that homosexuality is an abomination, and that it is their duty as Christians to reject it and warn their neighbour that their sin is taking them to hell. As ridiculous as that might sound to an atheist, from a christian perspective, it is a loving thing to do. I have only seen one conservative in the US advocating for death penalty for homosexuality. The old guard is about to die off. Many Trump voters are politically liberal but fiscally conservative too.

Lots of groups in this world hates each other. My Serbian friend has irrational hate for Albanians, and even spat at one in our younger years for no apparent reason. I hate large portions of plenty of groups too. I am not motivated to go out and take action against them though, and neither is most conservatives.

Those numbers does not surprise me.

Has it occurred to you that many of those victims may have been vulgar people who couldn't keep their hands to themselves, and made a sexual move on straight guys first, and is therefore partially to blame? I bet that isn't counted for in that report. I have seen that happen many times. Thirsty gay guys's lack of respect for straight men and their personal space is a huge problem.

Or what about transgenders fooling drunk straight men to bed without telling them what they are?
