Wolves can really scoot, as proved by the Voyageurs Wolf Project, a partnership between the University of Minnesota and Voyageurs National Park. Over the course of six months, the duo tracked the movements of seven wolves (six shown above) living in the northern Minnesota park. The GPS tags logged the canines’ activities about every half hour. The team visited every site where a wolf spent more than 20 minutes -- which required more than 5,000 miles of hiking. (Colossal)
